Position Summary
The Human Resources & Accounting Coordinator supports both HR and accounting functions for a growing manufacturing and technology company. This role is evenly split between employee support and day-to-day accounting activities.
The position is responsible for HR administration including onboarding, benefits, payroll coordination, recruiting support, employee records, and HR compliance within a PEO environment. The role also supports accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, banking administration, and general financial administration.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable handling confidential information in a fast-paced small company environment.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Responsibilities
- Serve as the main HR contact and coordinate with the company’s PEO partner
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding
- Maintain employee files, records, and HR documentation
- Support payroll processing and timekeeping administration
- Help employees with benefits enrollment and questions
- Coordinate open enrollment activities
- Support recruiting efforts including job postings and interview scheduling
- Track training, performance reviews, and compliance requirements
- Assist with employee communications and engagement activities
- Maintain HR policies, handbook acknowledgements, and required postings
- Support employee relations matters while maintaining confidentiality
Accounting Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices and maintain vendor records
- Generate customer invoices and support accounts receivable activities
- Assist with collections follow-up and monitor aging reports
- Support day-to-day banking administration activities including online banking transactions, payment processing, cash receipt coordination, credit card administration, expense report reconciliation, and maintenance of banking documentation
- Support payroll-related accounting activities
- Assist with month-end close and financial record accuracy
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and files
- Support purchasing administration and basic reporting activities
Administrative Support
- Provide general office and administrative support
- Assist with special projects and cross-functional coordination
- Help improve internal administrative and operational processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 3–5+ years of HR, payroll, office administration, or accounting experience preferred
- Experience working with a PEO environment preferred
- Knowledge of payroll, benefits administration, HR compliance, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, accounting administration, and day-to-day banking administration activities preferred
- Experience in a small company or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- High attention to detail and confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, and accounting software systems
